The Focus of the Arkansas Blue Ribbon Commission on Public Education

The Commission was created by Act 1398 of 2001 to:
  1. Seek to actively involve the private sector as full and valued partners in the improvement process
  2. Define the components of the constitutional mandate for "a general, suitable and efficient system of free public schools"
  3. Define an equitable and adequate system of free public education
  4. Assess current efforts to improve the state's system of public education
  5. Propose and recommend legislation for the 2003 Regular Session of the Arkansas General Assembly
