What is the Lake View Case?

In Fall 2000, at the request of the Arkansas Supreme Court, a hearing on whether the current system of public education was in compliance with the Arkansas Constitution was held in Pulaski County Chancery Court with Judge Collins Kilgore presiding. Judge Kilgore ruled that the current system of education was unconstitutional.

Below are links to Judge Kilgore's May 2001 ruling and reviews of the ruling by the Arkansas Bureau of Legislative Research and the Arkansas Department of Education, followed by Amicus Curae ("Friends of the Court") Briefs filed by concerned parties.
